Men dressed as Russian soldiers guard Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Two men dressed as Russian soldiers are standing “guard” at Donald Trump’s star on the walk of fame after it was vandalised.

Photos showed them surrounding the star on Wednesday after it was allegedly shattered with a pickaxe by Austin Clay, who currently faces felony vandalism charges.

Many people posted images of the two men dressed as Russian soldiers online.

One man named Tim Karr shared a photo of the “guards” on Twitter and wrote: “Russian soldiers guard the remnants of Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, which was destroyed earlier this week. +1 for political street theatre.”

Another person wrote: “Two guys dressed as Russian soldiers in 90F heat to ‘protect’ Trump’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame star from vandalism. That’s next level trollism!”

Footage of the two soldiers was aired on the Jimmy Kimmel show on Thursday.

The chat show host quipped: “That’s what comrades do for other comrades.”

The prank follows the news that Mr Trump has invited Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the White House.

Currently the Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating Russian interference into the 2016 US presidential election.

Mr Trump was criticised widely when he claimed that he saw “no reason” for Russia to have meddled in the election during the recent Helsinki summit when the two world leaders met.

Mr Clay is not the first person to vandalise Mr Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In October 2017, a man was arrested for using a pickaxe and a sledgehammer to damage the star.
