The official hub of this year's MMW will be the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and other live hotspots will include the NGV Great Hall, Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, MPavillion, Meat Market and Flemington Bowls Club.

The immersive, innova tive Dark Space Project at The Toff in Swanston Street will encourage your mind, in pitch black, to focus solely on the soundscape of modular synthesisers, loops, guitars, drums, bass and violin. It's one of many oppotunities to experience something off-beat at this year's MMW.

Sound and sight will be explored via the Cinemix series at ACMI when Mikey Young provides a live score for Alena Lodkina’s debut feature film Strange Colours.

Free panels and discussions as part of the MMW: Talks program include ethics in music journalism, Melbourne’s night-time economy, sound healing and music therapy, connecting to the Chinese music market, how to run inclusive music events and more.
